Now in its sixth year, TwoSevenFive Day has grown from a small celebration in a barbershop to becoming the defining annual event for the people of Māngere.

The yearly festival has not only grown exponentially but has also come to symbolise the wider "275" movement which is all about celebrating what makes the area so great.

And this year marks an exciting new chapter, with the support of Māngere’s Principals Association, local schools will be increasingly involved, bringing fresh energy and younger voices into the heart of the festivities.

The event is run by the TwoSevenFive Foundation, and one of its co-founders Fitz, says it wouldn’t be possible without community involvement and collaboration.

“It brings us back to the village mentality, knowing that we're all in this life together. No one is above or better than anyone else. We all win when we work together.”

So what can you expect on the day? There will be mouth-watering food, live local music, exciting performances, plus the unbeatable unity that only Māngere can deliver.

Last year saw over 4,000 attend, despite some wet and windy conditions, and Fitz says he expects another massive night, no matter what the weather throws up.

“The community always pulls through and shows mad love and support ... with small businesses giving what they can and local services also helping out.”
